Born in India, raised in New York and making her home in San Francisco, Vandana was surrounded by music from early childhood. She sang her very first solo as a young child at her grandparent's party during winter vacation in India. She hasn't stopped singing since then. A classically-trained vocalist with a 3-octave range, Vandana enjoys singing dramatic power ballads and sultry love songs. She trained in classical voice technique with international opera diva Sylvia Kutchukian in New York. Her primary influences include Barbra Streisand, Sarah Vaughan, Celine Dion, Billie Holiday, Patti LuPone, Olivia Newton-John, Whitney Houston and Michael Crawford. Vandana welcomes every opportunity to perform for live audiences. She has performed at festivals throughout Europe, performed the national anthem at a Knick's game at Madison Square Garden, at weddings throughout the world and at clubs in San Francisco, including the historic Empire Plush Room, Martuni's, the Octavia Lounge and at clubs in New York City, including world-renowned cabaret lounge Don't Tell Mama.
