I love sneaking in here on Sunday's at 9 pm to sing songs when Ben Prince is playing piano. It's always fun meeting new friends like Matthew, Chris, Alejandro, Susie from New Zealand, Nicole and many more! I tried out some new songs that I'm working on along with some favorites I will always love singing. If you've never been to Martuni's on a Sunday night, come on out and bring some music. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to sing their hearts out.
My friend and I met here to enjoy the fabulous Joe Wicht on piano! I broke out a lot of new songs that I'll perform at my upcoming May 13th debut show at Society Cabaret (tickets are on sale today :-) I sang a total of 6 songs, including songs from Wicked, Pippin, The Baker's Wife, Aspects of Love and two Whitney Houston power ballads. I loved meeting new friends Tom, Phuong, Lee, Amie and Corrie as well as seeing regulars like Courtney. My friend had a great time and was so happy that Joe played a few of her favorites songs for her :-) All in all, another great night at Martuni's.
I have loved "One Moment in Time" since I first heard it when it came out in the late 1980's. It is such a gorgeous song about hope, perseverance, dedication, hard work and believing yourself to achieve your goals. It brings me pure joy to sing it from my heart. I hope you enjoy it and share it with your friends and provide them with an uplifting 5 minute music video break :-)
I am so excited to debut my first professionally produced video from my February 18th show! Many thanks to Skip Ziobron at Martuni's for encouraging me to video tape the show and for introducing me to the incredibly gifted Vlad Korishev who so beautifully captured the evening on film! This video clip of "Always Starting Over" is from the original Broadway musical If/Then (starring Idiina Menzel) by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey (they also wrote Next to NOrmal). I saw this musical 8 times and this song means so much to me. The main character Liz sings this song while grieving the loss of the love of her life, her husband Josh. She would do it all again for that kind of true love. I hope you enjoy it :-)
I have always wanted to record a live CD at my favorite piano bar in San Francisco - Martuni's! I am grateful to Skip Zioborn for letting me record it at my February 18th show! I had the chance to work with so many incredibly talented people on this CD - David Aaron Brown on piano, Heikki Gruner on live sound recording and Steve Goodie on mixing and mastering! I included 8 of the 13 songs from my show on this CD. It includes songs from stage and screen made famous by Idina Menzel, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Bernadette Peters and Sarah Brightman. I hope you enjoy it! As an artist, I receive the most money if you download it from CD Baby. Thank you for your support! I hope you enjoy it :-)
Mom was visiting and so, of course, I brought her to Martuni's to hear me sing a few songs with the fabulous Joe Wicht on piano! She requested that I sing several of her favorite Andrew Lloyd Webber and Whitney Houston songs so I did! She met so many of my singing buddies like Paul and Austin! All in all, we had a great hour before dinner.
I am so excited for my DEBUT show on May 13th at 8 pm at the historic and beautiful Society Cabaret inside the Hotel Rex in downtown San Francisco! I hope you can join me! Tickets are on sale now. Purchase early for $30 seats. See you in May! :-) https://societycabarettickets.com/collections/san-francisco/products/17?variant=32180936525
I headed in here tonight without my sheet music but who needs sheet music when Joe Wicht is here? He is incredible to work with and such a kind and generous man to boot! I sang one two favorites: Love Changes Everything and Whitney's classic version of I Will Always Love You!
What a great night! David Aaron Brown was outstanding on the piano! Vlad was awesome on video! Susan did a fabulous job taking care of the audience and Jordan was incredible as the dashing doorman greeting every guest with a dazzling smile! I had so much fun! We had an 80 minute set which included plenty of banter, audience interaction along with trivia, a handsome male volunteer who did a great job while I sang a song to him in the spotlight as well as a super fun audience song-a-along to a classic Olivia song from Grease. Kudos to the audience for doing such a great job!
Love Changes Everything, Then You Look At Me, Someone To Watch Over Me, You Learn to Live Without, Always Starting Over, I've Got A Crush on You, God Bless the Child, Maybe This Time, Unexpected Song, It's All Coming Back to Me Now, Hopelessly Devoted To You, One Moment in Time and Let It Go as the encore.
I love Sunday's at Martuni's! So many fabulous show tune crooners show up here on Sunday's when Ben Prince is playing the piano. He is a singer's gift! He can play anything and everything! It's a treat to listen to him sing and play and to watch him play. He's one of a kind for sure! I sand a few songs: Meadowlark and Love Changes Everything. I had a great time listening more than singing this time and enjoyed catching up with fellow singers.
